22 years ago, I drove across the country to my new home in Seattle. The city had me in its grips the day I went cross country skiing in the morning and watched the sunset over the Salish Sea in the evening..all in one day. I will always carry my New York roots with me, but my heart belongs to the Pacific Northwest.
My camera helps me to visually express the beauty I experience all around me every day. I don't have to travel very far, as we have lush forests and incredibly diverse beaches, all within our city limits. My work as a Naturalist gives me the opportunity to share my passion about the natural world with others and to be a part of their joyous "ah-ha" moments as they discover the beauty on our shores from a cluster of barnacles feeding to an octopus gracefully navigating land at low tide. I hope that my photographic work will inspire others to protect the rich diversity of our Salish Sea inhabitants.
