silver spotted sculpin

This graceful, full grown, Silver Spotted Sculpin, was observed off the docks on San Juan Island while out highlighting under a beautiful, full moon. You can see how perfectly they are camouflaged among the blades of kelp growing off the sides of the dock. The water was teeming with juvenile crabs, perfect for this fish to grab lots of snacks!
